The market penetration of electric vehicles is accelerating, as a consequence the whole industry is under heavy pressure to ramp-up the production capacity and design batteries that continuously increase performance, reduce cost while guaranteeing the highest level of safety and of reliability.
Due to the battery technology complexity and to its weight into the overall vehicle cost structure (~30-45%), the After-Sales function is of critical importance to meet OEM-customers expected service level and to meet ACC KPIs (customer satisfaction, warranty reserve, profitability).
The After-Sales Director has the P&L responsibility of the After-Sales activity across ACC and is responsible for the execution of all After-Sales activities, coordinating transversely the teams supporting and/or dedicated to aftersales activities, e.g. including Claim Management, Engineering, Diagnosis Expertise Center, Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Projects & Serial Life Management, … E.g. - Ensure reactivity to manage customer claims coming from OEM plants and from OEM field centers, - Coordinate all internal (Engineering, Quality, SupplyChain, Customer Projects) and external stakeholders, to solve claims and deliver cost and technical competitive solutions, - Manage spare parts (supply chain, availability, delivery, obsolescence, upgrades), - Support Sales activities during RFI/RFQ phase and Customer Projects during development and serial life phases on topics related to aftersales She / he should be a senior executive, strongly business minded, focused on customer satisfaction and resolving customer issues, with leadership, effective communication and team spirit.
She / he will report to the VP Sales, Marketing & Strategy, member of ACC Executive Committee.
Cross functional interactions
Significant interaction with Engineering, Diagnosis Expertise Center, Quality, Supply Chain and each ACC production plant, Customer Projects, as well as Finance and external stakeholders (e.g. expertise centers)
Very strong relationship with our OEM customers, frontline to OEM Purchasing Department, while also facing each other OEM functions in coordination / support of other ACC departments (Project, Innovation, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain).
ACC R&D center (Bordeaux), along with frequent travel to ACC factories (Billy-Berclau in France, Kaiserslautern in Germany, Termoli in Italy) and to OEM customer diagnosis centers. Possibility for part-time remote work aligned with operational priorities.
Knowledge / Know how
Very knowledgeable person about automotive area, very strong experience as aftersales, preferably within a Tier1 supplier. Know-how about battery / electric vehicle battery industry and technology is a significant plus.
Experience (domain, number of years)
At least 20 years of experience in the automotive or battery sector.
French and English mandatory. German and/or Italian are a significant plus.
Business-driven, Autonomous, Responsible, Committed, Capable of managing complex and under-pressure situation.
