Job description

The objective of this internship is to study the electrochemical and thermal behaviour of a lithium-ion battery cell and to effectively couple them. The goal is to visualize in real time the electrical behaviour of the cell, integration of thermal management solutions & perform Multiphysics simulations.

Main mission of the Internee:

·        Perform a state of the art on electrochemical modelling techniques and tools and thermal behaviour of a lithium-ion battery cell

·        Perform a detailed numerical modelling of a lithium-ion battery cell using the Batteries and Fuel Cells Module in Comsol Multiphysics effectively considering heat transfer physics

·        Compare with in-house models and highlight main results/findings

·        Study the possibilities of using Livelink with Matlab for Multiphysics coupling with heat transfer physics

·        Integrate/suggest thermal management solutions


·        Bac +5 (Engineering Grande Ecole or Master University) in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering

·        Strong hold on electrochemistry and electrochemical systems will be a plus

·        Good command and/or experience in using Comsol Multiphysics is a major requirement

·        Capacity for analysis, synthesis, and communication

·        Autonomous with “Can Do” attitude

·        Good command on French and/or English
