Engineering Chemical Team Manager (F/M)

Automotive Cells Company (ACC) est une co-entreprise créée à l'été 2020 par Saft-Total, le Groupe PSA et Opel (devenus Stellantis depuis)et Mercedes-Benz. Notre ambition est de produire des batteries au meilleur niveau technologique tout en rendant la mobilité électrique accessible au plus grand nombre.
Pour donner vie à cette ambition, à la fois pour notre centre de R&D et notre ligne test en Nouvelle Aquitaine, mais aussi pour nos gigafactories dans les Hauts de France et en Allemagne nous recherchons des personnes compétentes et agiles, notamment dans les domaines aussi diverses et variés que la R&D, l'industrialisation, la conception mécanique, les tests/prototypages… et toute autre fonction d'une entreprise en pleine construction.

As a Chemical Team Manager your job will be to...

• Manage the product engineering chemistry team.

• Supervise teammates to ensure developments programs execution.

• Resource workload management and topics prioritization when needed.

• Ensure EV cells chemistry materials and slurry formations design activities relevant with projects and company roadmap and objectives.

• Participate to department long term roadmap and orientations drafting.

• Plan and animate internal standards and technical referential creation.

• Run and plan OPEX and CAPEX budget for the team.

Main Missions:

• Hire, Manage and coach the product engineering chemistry seniors, engineers and technicians

• Structure the team to support multiples customer projects

• Draft and animate the improvement of internal standards, processes and methodologies implementations

• Contribute to the company roadmap

• Apply and transmit its expertise on Li-ion cell electrochemistry.

• Apply and transmit its expertise on Li-ion cell manufacturing at lab, pilot and industrial scale

• Propose new concepts and materials to improve EV cell at chemistry, relevant with company roadmap

• Build and test prototypes

• Apply agile technics to be able to answer quickly to various internal and external customers.

• Lead and manage internal and external projects, contracts, while collaborating with internal teams (R&D, Industrialization, Projects, Simulation, …).

• Lead and manage collaborations with suppliers, customers and strategic partners.

• Be aware of and analyses solutions from competitors.

• Be up to date to the state of the art on its topic of expertise.

• Participate to international meetings and contribute to the company fame.

• Support Intellectual Property monitoring and propose innovative patentable concepts.

Know How

• Management and team motivation

• Excellent understanding of the Li-ion accumulators technology

• Excellent understanding of current technological locks and limits

• Electrochemistry applied to battery

• Manufacturing processes of Li-ion cell

• Knowledge on various analytical methods

Experience

• 10 years’ experience in similar job at automotive or battery manufacturer

• 5+ years technical team management

• International experience (China, Japan, Korea, Germany, USA) in R&D and/or Production for Li-ion battery

Qualification

• PhD in Chemistry/Electrochemistry/Material Science

• Fluent in English
