Job description

With the upcoming launch of ACC gigafactories in France, Germany, and Italy, we are looking to recruit project-minded specialist to join the core group of our launch team. This core team of experts will travel from one Gigafactory to another and its main mission will be to prepare and assist in the industrialization and launch of new manufacturing units. We are looking for multicultural, geographically flexible professionals who thrive on taking up challenges.

In this context we are recruiting a Coating and Calendering Expert (M/F) with a solid experience and skills in the coating and calandering processes, prefreably in the exclusive field of the Li-B manufacturing.

Main missions:
·        To assist Equipment Suppliers during the ramp up of manufacturing plants
·        To have a knowledge of most impacting parameters on the process (or put in place Design of Experiment to define them)
·        To agree with R&D team and Industrial team, process parameters to be applied on equipment
·        Define all measurement on products needed to characterize if process is answering product requirements
·        Analyze the results and if needed, to propose improvements to reach specifications or to be more stable (better yield)
·        In case of deviation, to be able to define the root cause and to propose actions plan
·        To propose a standardization of the parameters processes, to be more robust in serial production
·        To be aware of all new processes in LiB maket
·        To identify any risk in terms of cost, quality, … in case of new product to be manufactured and anticipate these risks on the equipment itself and adapt process accordingly.
 
Technical Knowhow:
·        Mastery of coating processes at high speed level > 40m/min (Slot die, solvent content, 2 layers dryers, …) and product characterization (homogeneity, flatness, …)
·        To have experiences in different LiB raw materials (LFP, NMC,…) and know well which products (mechanical properties of foils, slurry viscosity,…) or parameter will impact the quality
·        To have experiences in thickness tools
·        To master calandering processes (pressure,…) and product characterization (elongation,…)

Profile

  • Bachelor of Sciences in chemical engineering or physics & chemistry processes.       
  •  Process Specialist : technical knowledge related to coating & calendering (wet processes , thin electrodes, low porosities with NMC).
  • 5-10 years of experience in coating and/or calandering processes. Experience in LiB manufacturing is greatly preferred.
  • Expert to define a root cause, to engage analysis, to improve it and to standardize.
  • Open to relocation and project oriented
  • Fluent in English. French is a great advantage. German and Italian is a +.
