Job description

You will be in charge of :

  • Establish and maintain structured working  relationships between cell development, quality and manufacturing teams.
  • Establish and maintain close working relationship between different manufacturing sites
  • Develop and maintain tools to model manufacturing capability and drive adoption of these tools across the cell development organization
  • Elevated potential scalability risks to cell development and manufacturing organizations
  • Develop experimental plans to support efforts to identify optimal manufacturing process or demonstrate risks associated with proposed manufacturing solution
  • Develop and maintain relationships with different battery manufacturing and quality instruments equipment vendors
  • Attend trade shows and follow trade literature to follow latest developments in manufacturing
  • Support development team in understanding the criticality of understanding dispersion and stack-up at modelling stage
  • Work with operations team and understand required processes and process tact times to meet customer volume requirements

Profile

Knowledge / Know how

  • Significant exposure to current, state of the art high volume lithium-ion battery manufacturing
  • Expertise in at least one domain of lithium-ion battery manufacturing (mixing, coating, stamping, laser cutting, welding, formation, etc)
  • Strong fundamental understanding of lithium-ion battery chemistry and operating principles
  • Good understanding of statistical methods for evaluating manufacturing capabilty



Experience
Minimum 5 years exposure to high volume cell manufacturing. 10 years working in consumer lithium-ion or related electrochemical technology . Minimim 3 years leading technical teams.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Chemistry/Electrochemistry/Material Science/Mechanical Engineering. 6sigma training
  • Fluent in English
