We aim to produce sustainable, affordable, high-capacity, longer-life batteries as a cleaner alternative to current energy sources. We create an R&D center and new state-of-the art facility in France (New Aquitaine), with gigafactories to be built in Hauts de France and Germany.

We need a range of skilled and agile people to bring our vision to life, especially in the areas of industrialization, mechanical design, testing/prototyping and any other function of a new-born company. Accelerating sustainable mobility for all_

Job description

Building on an R&D center in Bordeaux and a pilot plant in Nersac, ACC plans to design and build its
first giga-factory in Douvrin, France, with SOP planned for mid-2023; and a second giga-factory in
Kaiserslautern, Germany, with planned SOP in early 2025. A third giga-factory in another European
country is under consideration but has not yet been approved.

Based on the above ambitious industrial investment roadmap (approx. € 5bn) and its construction /
ramp-up and manufacturing engineering challenges, ACC is seeking to recruit an outstanding VP
Kaiserslautern Project, who will be in charge of building the Kaiserslautern giga-factory (a € 2bn
investment). S/he will be a member of ACC’s executive committee, further increasing the international
spirit. S/he will report to the COO.
The project will be built in three blocks, the first representing an investment of about € 600m. The
timeline is ambitious (e.g. 12 months of planning and 18 months of construction are expected in
addition to permitting times and other requirements). It will be a high-tech factory with highly
automated production of battery cells. Given the very large volume that will be produced in the plant,
cost sensitivity and lean methods are essential.
The VP Kaiserslautern Project will be in charge of building the giga-factory in Kaiserslautern from
scratch and will also operate the plant going forward. S/he will need to hire and build a team and
manage all relevant aspects of the project in Germany (project management, stakeholder
management, etc.). The target set for the future incumbent is to achieve SOP in 2025.

Profile

Knowledge / Know how
Background in/expertise of battery cells, even more than of battery modules, would be ideal
ACC would be willing to forego other requirements to attract a battery cells expert

We are seeking a seasoned industrial executive with over 20 years of work experience, board expertise, and deep knowledge of operations.
Extensive industrial project management track record (design lay-out, manufacturing

/ production management experience.

Qualifications
An engineering degree and fluency in German and English
