Automotive Cells Company (ACC) is a joint venture established in the summer of 2020 and supported by Stellantis, Mercedes-Benz, and Saft (a subsidiary of TotalEnergies). Our ambition is to produce electric batteries at the highest technological level while promoting cleaner and more accessible mobility for everyone.

Our Billy-Berclau / Douvrin Gigafactory is now entering a new phase: the launch of its second production block.

Context :

As part of ACC’s strategic development of AI capabilities, we are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to oversee artificial intelligence projects, guide machine learning practices, and ensure the industrial deployment of models in a demanding production environment. This role is an evolution of the Data Scientist position, with a stronger focus on technical leadership and mentoring.

Main Missions :

• Design, industrialize, and deploy AI solutions for battery manufacturing projects (lifetime optimization, product quality, predictive maintenance, etc.)

• Provide technical oversight for AI projects in collaboration with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, DevOps, and business teams

• Implement MLOps best practices (CI/CD, monitoring, drift management, performance optimization)

• Mentor junior profiles and promote AI best practices within the Data team

• Conduct technology watch and contribute to strategic decisions regarding AI tools and architectures

Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and deploy AI models (Machine Learning, Computer Vision, LLMs) addressing business needs (product quality, process optimization, predictive maintenance, etc.)

• Ensure production deployment and monitoring of models by applying MLOps best practices (CI/CD, monitoring, drift management, performance optimization)

• Manage the delivery of AI workpackages: planning, deliverable tracking, coordination of internal and external resources, reporting

• Collaborate with Data Engineers to guarantee data quality, availability, and governance

• Provide technical leadership on AI projects and support junior Data Scientists in developing their skills

• Contribute to technology watch and continuous improvement of AI and MLOps practices

Contexte :

Dans le cadre du développement stratégique de l’IA chez ACC, nous recherchons un Lead DataScientist pour piloter les projets d’intelligence artificielle, encadrer les pratiques de machine learning et assurer la mise en production des modèles dans un environnement industriel exigeant. Ce poste est une évolution du rôle de DataScientist, avec une dimension de leadership technique et de mentoring renforcée.

Missions principales :

• La conception, l’industrialisation et le déploiement de solutions IA dans le cadre de projets liés à la fabrication de batteries (optimisation de la durée de vie, qualité produit, maintenance prédictive…)

• L’encadrement technique des projets IA, en lien avec les Data Scientists, Data Engineers, DevOps et métiers

• La mise en place de bonnes pratiques MLOps (CI/CD, monitoring, gestion des dérives, performance)

• Le mentoring des profils juniors et la diffusion des bonnes pratiques IA au sein de l’équipe Data

• La veille technologique et l’orientation stratégique sur les outils et architectures IA

Responsabilités :

• Concevoir, développer et déployer des modèles IA (Machine Learning, Computer Vision, LLM) répondant aux besoins métiers (qualité produit, optimisation process, maintenance prédictive…)

• Assurer la mise en production et le suivi des modèles en appliquant les bonnes pratiques MLOps (CI/CD, monitoring, gestion des dérives, optimisation des performances)

• Gérer la livraison des workpackages IA : planification, suivi des livrables, coordination des ressources internes et externes, reporting

• Collaborer avec les Data Engineers pour garantir la qualité, la disponibilité et la gouvernance des données

• Encadrer techniquement les projets IA et accompagner les Data Scientists juniors dans leur montée en compétences

• Contribuer à la veille technologique et à l’amélioration continue des pratiques IA et MLOps

Technical Skills

• Languages: Python (expert), SQL

Profile :

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field

• Proven experience (5+ years) in AI/ML within an industrial environment

• Hands-on experience deploying AI models to production, managing pipelines, and implementing CI/CD

• Ability to provide technical leadership, share knowledge, and support team skill development

• Excellent communication skills, strong pedagogical approach, analytical and synthesis abilities

• French: fluent

• English: fluent to bilingual

• Expérience en mise en production de modèles IA, gestion de pipelines, CI/CD

• Capacité à encadrer techniquement une équipe, à partager les connaissances et à faire monter en compétence

• Excellente communication, sens de la pédagogie, esprit d’analyse et de synthèse.
