Job description

The Methods Maintenance Engineer leads the deployment and application of equipment maintenance standards.
In this capacity, he's the on-site guarantor of the maintenance guidelines and processes. He ensures that the personnel concerned (managers, technicians, professionals, operators) are properly trained and that the processes are properly applied. He evaluates the site's performance and manages the associated progress plans.

In order to guarantee production volumes with the most cost-effective maintenance by optimising the MTBF and MTTR, the Method Maintenance Engineer's mission includes the management of the efficient application of following activities

  • REACTIVITY: Provide assistance to front office teams during long breakdowns by managing back-office teams of specialist and referent maintenance technician.
  • RELIABILITY: coach the operational teams to perform the application of standards and improve their efficience (TRG animation, perfect identification of bottle neck and leading cycle time stations, optimization of costs, MTTR and MTBF optimization)
  • MAINTAINING POTENTIAL: for the entire plant, prioritise investments in the Medium Term Plan, commit to investments.
  • COSTS: Optimise the consumption of spare parts, identify and validate the use of parts with the best quality/cost ratio. Optimise stocks to the extent necessary. Identify and implement relevant solutions for component repairs.
  • Subcontracting: For external work - Drafting of consultation documents - Consultation, DA, order preparation - Drafting of files for Investment Requests and Operating Credit Requests. Validate the studies, monitor the works and accept them.
  • RETEX: in the project phase, to bring the requirements of maintainability of the installations, to participate in the choice of materials, access, tools. Participate in the FMEA, acceptance tests with suppliers or on site.
  • TRAINING: Ensure the drafting, dissemination and training of operational staff in the standards (Work Instruction), draft the standards for troubleshooting and repair. Write and implement technical training courses in your speciality as a trainer, write questionnaires or tests (CAPFOR), ensure field coaching.
  • REFERENTIALS: Update the reference materials (preventive maintenance plan, standards, nomenclatures, plans, diagrams, zero mileage and automatic programs.
  • SAFETY: In all circumstances, ensure your own safety as well as that of all the people involved. Check that the regulatory controls are planned and carried out and that any deviations are dealt with, including the essential safety devices. In the event of a change in the regulatory framework, identify the deviations and implement the necessary upgrades.

 

Profile

Knowledge / Know how :
Maintenance training. Troubleshooting, implementation of palliative and curative measures. Reading of plans, diagrams (electrical, pneumatic, etc.). Methods of 5P analysis, MAXER, etc... and continuous improvement (Kaizen, TPM, etc...).

Experience :
Maintenance of automated industrial production systems, ideally in high speed.More than 5 years minimal, more than 10 years appreciated.

Qualifications :
BTS Maintenance in the specialities of industrial maintenance automation, electro-mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, etc... 

Key behaviours :
