Job description

You will be in charge of :

  • Build up the team for Cell Chemistry for the Kaiserslautern R&D Center. Assure that the Team delivers the required results in at least required quantity and quality on time
  • Build up, structure, and organize analytical laboratory in KL according to QM Standards suitable for RD and Production
  • Prepare laboratory capability to execute incoming and intermediate process materials as a quality assurance service to production
  • Monitor and utilize special technologies relating to cell chemistry that are developed or available at institutes and universities. Build relationship such that ACC has access to these techniques depending on our needs
  • Manage the teams interactions in connection with TRL<7 activities in Bruges/Nersac and towards the TRL>6 for the KL customer project teams
  • Assure close collaboration and information flow between the ACC sites and groups in relation to Chemistry at all TRL levels
  • Develop and maintain technical relationship to german RD Network. Contact point for technical project work or ACC feedback
  • Manage of technical exchange with material and component suppliers for all inside the cell components
  • Responsible for the ability of the team members to contribute in the customer project teams with highest competence
  • Build and be point of knowledge in the site of Kaiserslautern for all cell chemistry topics in Kaiserslautern with close alignment to the Innovation group as well as “Chemical team” groups in Bruges/Nersac and Senior Expert for cell chemistry
  • Responsibility for fulfilling all legal and ACC HSE requirement for all chemicals and materials that arrive in the RD Center Kaiserslautern as well as their handling within the RD premises and eventually their disposal
  • Contact point for forward looking assessment of chemical regulations with relevance to ACC KL
  • Actively share best practice experience, suggestions for overall process improvements at ACC

Profile

Knowledge / Know how      

  • Design of cells. Choice of battery materials. In depth understanding of cell production and cell performance
  • Automotive market and applicable standards and rules



Experience :

  • 5 years min of preferably industrial Li ion battery cell experience
  • Proven experience in leading a group of people to the desired results
  • Proven skills to structure and organize complex projects



Qualifications :

  • Completed University degree or equivalent, e.g. chemistry or materials sciences
  • Read, write and speak english and german fluently
